This is an entry level engineer/technician position and prior experience is not required.
Full on the job training is provided for a selected candidate that meets the requirements.
Customer Service Representative / Lab Technician Provides customer support and/or assistance with lab projects.
Communicate effectively predominantly with instant messaging and emails (proficient ability to type is necessary), with a small portion of service provided via phone and 'walk-in' customers.
Provide customer service to internal and external customers regarding the status of a project through the complete cycle of testing.
Share data and reports with customers as requested.
Provides routine sample labeling and materials testing (on the job training).
Duties:
Communicates data or other project information such as mail received or tracking numbers to the appropriate personnel and/or SharePoint database.
Provide customer service and uses knowledge of tests to assist others, help explain testing and process in lab tours as well as all virtual communication methods such as Microsoft Teams meetings, instant message, and email.
Support maintenance of an organized workplace via general organizational housekeeping, such as 5S.
Support general purchases for materials and supplies needed for the office, as well as scheduling equipment vendors and other trades for repairs or calibration.
Maintains testing systems and completes lab work queues to ensure that lab tests are completed on time.
Maintains workflow and adjusts priorities based on urgent requests.
Data entry, preparation of test specimens, setup of testing equipment and running tests per documented lab procedures.
The ability to quickly adapt to frequently changing work priorities is a must.
Skills:
Microsoft Office computer software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) proficiency is required.
Requires general computer and tablet knowledge.
Including how to manipulate data, text, images, tables, and general formatting.
Ability to solve problems, learn new topics, and develop/organize new projects using foundational training and resources with limited oversight.
Participates in special projects and additional duties as required.
